Children and youth rights in German development cooperation activities

The action plan is intended to frame a strategy for and expand BMZ' worldwide activities to promote children and youth.

The action plan is an important part of BMZ' work to help implement the SDGs. It has been formulated based on the main principles of the Agenda 2030 - "leave no one behind" - and highlights children as "critical agents of change".

BMZ has set itself three strategic goals:

• to expand and improve the projects it carries out to implement child and youth rights;
• to play a leading role in international dialogue to ensure children and youth rights are respected, proctected and guaranteed; and
• to make the risks facing and the potential of children's rights a astrategic aspect in then design of the support activities and to ensure those activities are aligned with the interests and needs of the partner governments
